The service offers download speeds of up to 25 megabits per second (Mbps) and upload speeds of up to 5 Mbps.

This is delivered through a Ka-band satellite launched in October last year, and a network of ground stations.

A second Ka-band satellite is expected to be launched later this year.

Around 5,000 users per month will be connected in the early months of the rollout, which then will be scaled up to 10,000 installations per month.

In total, the service represents a $2 billion investment by the Australian Government.
