An ARENA funded moveable solar-diesel hybrid power plant project by Laing O'Rourke has been successfully piloted and will be commercialised through a new start-up company, SunSHIFT Pty Ltd.
The power plant is scalable and movable, targeting off-grid applications where temporary power is required, such as construction projects, mine sites and disaster relief.
The system performed as expected during the six month trial period.
A report on the technical and commercial lessons learnt from the deployment, which may be useful to inform the development other moveable solar projects, is now available.
