Innovative manufacturing firms in South Australia and Victoria will receive at total of $31.6 million in the second round of the Australian Government's Next Generation Manufacturing Investment Program.
Together with expected industry contributions, advanced manufacturing capabilities across both states will be boosted with investments totalling $136 million.
The investment program is a key component of the $155 million Growth Fund, which was established in response to the announced closure of the state's car manufacturing plants in 2017.
The total investment in capital projects resulting from the first two rounds of the program is estimated at $283 million.
